Find of the Day: 1990 Ur-quattro 20V RR

words: Bill Cho, photos: 4 Star Classics

The Ur-quattro will always be a special car and because so, they are getting harder and harder to find in good condition. This one classifies as “good” if not “great” condition.  The last of the breed, this is a 1990 example with only 81,092 miles since new.

The description says there’s no damage aside from a small crack in the front splitter and only a couple of small blemishes in the Crystal Silver Metallic paint.  All the glass and lenses are clear and moisture free.

The interior is all original and looks extremely clean. There is little wear in the leather and no cracks on the dash. It even retains its original cassette stereo. That quattro script on the seats…Mein Gott.

The engine is the 20V RR 2.2L turbo 5 and has never been modified. It’s reported that the engine pulls strong with little turbo lag and the transmission shifts smoothly. It’s had a full service and had the belts changed.

This car’s service life is well documented over its 28 years and 81k miles. The exterior is perfect, the interior is perfect, the engine is perfect, and it’s old enough to import. If you haven’t already figured it out, it’s a right hand drive UK car. The price? £54,995 which works out to $75,840.85. Not a bad price for a car that is flawless.
