Find of the Day: 1969 NSU TT Pickup

words: Bill. photos: 2shores Classic Cars

Searching for Finds of the Day can be rewarding and I think people will agree with me when I say this is Awesome. The NSU TT is pretty unique itself but then convert one into a pickup? Epic. Here’s the ad:

We are excited to offer on behalf of one of our clients this one of one example of an NSU TT Pick Up.

For many years, 2shores has been offering selected, finest grade examples of collectible automobiles. This very unique, small German Pick Up is one of those examples!

The NSU Prinz evolved into the somewhat larger bodied NSU Prinz 1000, introduced at the 1963 Frankfurt Motor Show. A sporting NSU 1000 TT (with a 1.1 liter engine) also appeared, which was later developed into the NSU (1200) TT and NSU TTS models. All had the same body with inline four air-cooled OHC engines and were frequently driven as sports cars, but also as economical family cars as well. The mostly alloy engines were very lively, and highly reliable. The OHC arrangement was quite advanced for the time on a small family car as most home-grown cars were still using less efficient pushrod engines. Paired with the low total weight, excellent handling and cornering, both the NSU 1000 and the much higher powered NSU 1200 TT/TTS outperformed many sport cars of the time. the1200 TT has 65 PS (48 kW) DIN and the most potent TTS version has 70 PS (51 kW) DIN from only one liter. The 1000 received large oval headlights, while the sportier TT versions have twin round headlights mounted within the same frame.

Our car on offer is a true one off Pick Up version of the NSU TT. Based on the sporty NSU TT this build was executed with precise German skill. The stringent German norms for vehicle inspections gave this car all thumbs up and created a German title as “Pick Up” back in 1993 including the upgraded power of the engine. The car is powerful, fast and economical. So much fun to drive! A perfect attention getter for any business or enthusiast. The only NSU TT Pick Up in the world!

Technically the car is very well sorted, rust-free and 100% roadworthy. New brakes all around just installed. This is a multiple show winner and comes with all the trophies. The coolest, smallest and fastest Pick Up in the neighborhood for sure!

Please study all the photos closely to evaluate the condition of this car! Located in Germany. Pre-purchase inspections welcomed! Worldwide shipping is gladly arranged!
