TT West 2021 is a 835+ mile trip that features the jaw-dropping scenery of some of the West’s iconic locations as we visit a bucket list of National Monuments exploring the color country and ancient history of Colorado, Utah, and Arizona.

It starts in Grand Junction, Colorado with an optional Sunday drive along the Grand Mesa Scenic Byway that has lots of twisties. Monday we begin with a drive through the colorful cliffs of the Colorado National Monument and then visit the ghost town of Cisco, Utah. We then travel to Moab, Utah via the Colorado River over one of the most spectacular drives in the Western US. After arriving in Moab for lunch we enter Arches National Park and go to a vista of the Delicate Archfeatured on Utah license plates.

Tuesday we explore Canyonlands National Park with two drives, one north of Moab and one south. Wednesday, we head south to our first stop at the Goosenecks of the San Juan River. Next is Monument Valley and lunch at The View Hotel inside Monument Valley. Our final stop is the historic Thunderbird Lodge and Trading Post at Canyon de Chelly National Monument.

We park the TTs and spend Thursday on a guided truck tour through the bottom of spectacular Canyon de Chelly that features 1000’ sheer cliffs, ancient pueblo ruins, and ancient rock art. The canyon is one of the most spectacular gems of the southwest that remains relatively undiscovered. It is an amazing mash-up of ancient ruins like those at Mesa Verde and incredible geological features like the Grand Canyon.

On Friday we head to the Petrified Forest and the Painted Desert Overlook and then on to Holbrook for lunch and a photo op at the classic Wigwam Village motel. On our way to Winslow, Arizona we stop at the Homolovi Ruins State Park to explore more ancient Native American ruins. After arriving in Winslow, Arizona we will be recreating the Eagles classic song “standing on a corner” for a photo op and stay at the historic Santa Fe Railroad’s La Posada hotel.

Registration is expected to open on this web site in May 2021 and will again be limited to 20 TTs which fills up fast. So don’t be left out of this incredible trip. The present description is preliminary and some changes are possible in the dates or itinerary before the opening of registration.
