DESCRIPTION:Join us for a Fall drive\, diving on some colorful back roads to beautiful Elkhart Lake. We will be leaving from Audi Noth Shore around 9:30am (we will also have a group leaving from the Appleton area too). Once we all arrive at Elkhart Lake\, we will take a couple of slow laps around the 1950 Historic Race Circuit and then tour some of the 1951-52 race circuit that all happened on public roads. Yes\, before there was a Road America racetrack\, they raced on the streets and roads in and around the village of Elkhart Lake. \nWe’ll relive the 1950-1952 races as there are 14 historic road markers along the route describing some of the events that happened during those races. While you cannot drive the complete 1951-52 circuit\, we will try to drive as much as we can by Audi power. \nAfter the drive around the race circuits\, we will meet for lunch (individual checks will be provided) at Road America’s racing fan’s favorite go-to-place for food and drinks – the Stop-Inn Tavern at the famous Siebkens Resort. \nFull details will be posted on our website and emailed to all members. It will also allow you to explore your capabilities as a driver and those of your vehicle in a controlled environment. At no time will you be encouraged to go any faster than is comfortable. All participants will be organized into run groups in accordance with experience\, skill\, and type of vehicle. \nWhat you learn on the track depends on your driving skill. Beginners are taught driving style (smoothness\, consistency\, the ability to read the track)\, more experienced participants continue to work on consistency\, while developing new skills such as trail braking and threshold braking. As a beginner\, every time you are on the track\, you will have an experienced instructor with you in the passenger seat. \nFor experienced drivers\, you can be “signed off” and drive solo when you have proven to your instructor and the Chief Instructor that you understand the basics of high speed driving\, you can consistently drive the correct line\, and you show proper etiquette on track. Maturity\, good judgment\, skill\, and significant experience will lead to being signed off for solo driving. \nThough you are on a racetrack\, other drivers of similar driving skills\, it is not a race. Passing in corners is not allowed\, and you are not expected to shift at redline\, or go screaming through each corner with the tires squealing. Safety of the event is of the utmost importance. SUMMARY:Audi Club Georgia: Cherohala Skyway Weekend
DESCRIPTION:This fall\, we return to the Cherohala Skyway and Tapoco Lodge\, October 4-5. Following last year’s success\, we’ve negotiated access to the entire lodge and have secured a very favorable 20% discount. Again\, the number of beds is limited\, so don’t wait to book. Some cabins have several bedrooms\, ideal if you want to share with friends. Saturday\, October 4 we will take you on a warmup drive around the mountains of Northeast Georgia\, Tennessee\, and Western North Carolina\, ending with a private dinner in the Cheoah Dining Room at Tapoco Lodge. Sunday\, October 5 begins with a group breakfast\, after which you may either linger at the Lodge or join us on a morning run on the area two-lanes. We’ll gather again for lunch at the Lodge and then set off on the highlight of the weekend\, driving the Cherohala Skyway. This is one of the most beautiful roads in the region\, with almost every turn engineered to a perfect radius and smooth pavement. After a brief stop in Tellico Plains\, we take the Skyway back to Robbinsville with the fading sun behind us\, a striking experience. \nIn keeping with the Stage format we introduced last fall\, you can attend as many or as few of the components of this trip as you desire (or have time for). We just ask that you respect the scheduled departure times for each Stage you sign up for. Each Stage is detailed on the registration form. Participants will cover their own expenses\, and the nominal $30 registration fee is the same for everyone.

DESCRIPTION:Driver Skills is a one-day clinic on the fundamentals of performance driving hosted by the Pacific Northwest Region of the Porsche Club of America. Appropriate for novices and experienced drivers alike\, Driver Skills will make you a safer\, more competent driver. Working 1:1 with our Porsche\, Audi and BMW club instructors\, students rotate in small groups through the following educational segments: \nGround school (classroom)\nSlalom\nWet skidpad\nThreshold braking and accident avoidance\nFigure-8\nAutocross\nDriver Skills runs from 7:50am (gates open at 7) to 3:30pm\, followed by an optional segment which runs to 6pm or dark\, whichever comes first. \nNone of the segments involve timing or competition. Instead\, you work 1:1 with our instructors at a pace appropriate for your experience and comfort level. Together\, the segments improve your ability to look ahead\, place the car precisely\, control weight transfer\, steer with the throttle\, and brake effectively. Run groups are small\, which means that wait time between runs is minimal. At the end of the primary sessions\, students are encouraged to apply the lessons of the day in an optional segment on a large maneuvering course. \nMany see this as great prep or skill growth for our Driver Education\, or Autocross events. This course also qualifies you for Driver Education (track driving) events with the local Audi and BMW clubs. \nThe Driver Skills participation fee is $175\, including a lunch. ($100 for qualified teen drivers). Limited helmet rentals are available for $30\, with the fee waived for those participants under 21 years of age.

DESCRIPTION:NAAC FALL FOLIAGE TOUR (Where the tourist don’t know) \nTourist always go to the “Kanc” to see the fall foliage.  Too many cars\, stop and go traffic\, makes for a frustrating day.  This tour will take you places that the normal tourist has no idea about.  The back roads of NH have some great sights to see \nDate is Saturday September 27th\, with a Rain Date of September 28th. Everyone who signs up will be notified 24 hours in advance. \nFee will be $25 per car. \nStart will be the Circle K/Irving Parking Lot at the Exit 24 off Route I-93. Lunch will be in Woodsville NH. Finish at “The Common Man” in Plymouth NH\, right at exit 26 of Route 93. \nCheck in will be at 9:30AM\, leaving at 10AM.  Morning drive is approx. 2 hours and 15 minutes; plus however many stops we choose to make. The afternoon is approx. 1 hour and 45 minutes\, plus stops. There is approx. 8 miles of nicely groomed dirt roads on this tour. Finish will be before 4PM

DESCRIPTION:Join us in Weston for a fun afternoon of a tour of a working sheep milk farm\, cheese tasting\, followed by lunch. Feel free to bring the family! \nFarm staff will give us a guided tour of the farm\, a glimpse inside the milking parlor\, and a view into our cheese kitchen. Then we’ll return to the shop for a guided tasting of cheeses! They’ll share the story of how they turn flavorful sheep milk into delicious award winning cheeses and answer all our questions about farm practices and products. Please RSVP by Wednesday\, September 17 if attending. Please leave a comment of your head count. \nCost is $20 per person. Tour starts promptly at 11:00\, so please arrive no later than 10:45 for check in and payment. Following the tour and tasting\, feel free to stay for lunch at their fantastic cafe.
