DESCRIPTION:5th Annual Schnitzel Tour 2025 Club Drive – Colorado Springs –May 17\, 2025 \nFor our May club tour we will meet up at Audi Denver and drive to Edelweiss restaurant in Colorado Springs. As an extra (optional)\, those who wish to can join the group and finish the day at the Penrose Heritage Museum at the Broadmoor. Our day will begin at Audi Denver – 6060 South Broadway\, Littleton CO 80121. Participants in the tour should arrive by 8:30 am. There will be a mandatory driver’s meeting at 8:45 and the drive will depart at 9:00am. \nWe will be heading south through Deckers\, then to Woodland Park\, and to Hwy 24 into Colorado Springs. The plan will be to head to lunch as a group at noon to Edelweiss German Restaurant\, 34 E. Ramona Ave\, Colorado Springs\, CO 80905. \nReservations will be made for the group to accommodate the group to be able to sit together. All participants will be required to pay for their own food and beverages. \nAbout Edelweiss German Restaurant: Originally from the Heidelberg region of Germany Helga Schnakenberg has been a part of the Edelweiss family since 1969.  Using only the best fresh ingredients\, the menu she has created is an invitation to visit Germany and taste all it has to offer.  Helga\, her husband Gary\, and their son Dieter will welcome you and make you feel at home. \nAbout the Penrose Heritage Museum: Participants will have the opportunity to explore the museum for 1 hour. Admission to the Museum is free. There is free and convenient parking available in the Broadmoor Parking Garage located next to the museum.

DESCRIPTION:If you’re a parent of a teenage driver\, you already know the uneasy feeling you get when they venture out into traffic on their own. In reality\, you can do more! Sunday\, May 18\, send/go with your teen to a defensive driving school designed specifically for young drivers. The Tire Rack Street Survival Teen Driving School has added an event at Barber Motorsports Park near Birmingham\, less than 2 hours drive from Atlanta. Note that students MUST have a full license and will be driving their own car (or the one in your household that they are most accustomed to driving).\nThe program fee of $125 is nothing compared to the skills\, confidence\, and peace of mind you and your teen will get. Parents cannot participate directly in the program but are encouraged to attend. While you’re there\, check out the Barber Museum’s incredible collection of vintage cars and motorcycles\, open Sunday from Noon to 6:00pm. Bonus points if you can find the exhibits of particular interest to fans of the Four Rings! Let us know if you’re planning to go. We expect to have one or more board members present.\nRegistration is handled directly by the organizers HERE. Act quickly! There are only a limited number of spots left. If you do miss out\, there’s another chance when the event repeats on October 26. We’ll be sure to remind you!

SUMMARY:Audi Club Golden Gate: Teen Driver Safety Clinic
DESCRIPTION:The Audi Teen Driver Safety Clinic is designed to go far beyond what is typically taught in Drivers’ Ed or a driving school with an emphasis on keeping the students in their cars with only a little time spent in the classroom. This is best described as a classroom within the car. \nThe event is open to all teen drivers between the age of 15½ and 19 (consideration can be made for drivers up to the age of 21) who have a valid learning permit\, provisional driver’s license or full driver’s license. All teen students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian\, and they must be driving a fully registered vehicle. All makes and models of cars are welcome and membership in the Audi Club of North America is not required for this event. \nThe cost of the Teen Driving Clinic is $175 for each student which includes lunch\, snacks and beverages. There is an additional $20 fee for any parent or other person who wishes to attend with the student which covers the cost of lunch\, snacks and beverages. \nThe event will teach teen drivers to control their cars in a variety of real-world situations. Each teen driver will have an in-car tutor who will guide him or her through practical exercises of: accident avoidance\, ABS and panic braking and slalom driving all in dry and wet conditions. These exercises are designed to improve awareness of the teen driver’s car and how to control it. Additionally there is an exercise called “driving the dots” that is designed to help the teen drivers become more aware of where the edge of the lane (or curb) is located. Classroom sessions will focus on “real world” situations that teens face every day on the road\, including proper lane changing\, merging and passing techniques. Distraction hazards\, such as texting while driving\, will also be discussed. \nAt the end of the day all teen drivers will leave with much-improved driving skills and big smiles. If you have any questions\, please send email to registrar@audiclubgoldengate.org. \nEvent Logistics\nThis is an all-day event where the teens will spend most of the day in the car.\nThe Clinic will take place on Sunday\, June 1\, 2025 at Solano Community College in Fairfield. Everything you need to participate will be provided\, except your car and a parent. Details will be sent a few days prior to the event but you can plan on meeting at parking lot #3\, Solano College\, 4000 Suisun Valley Road\, promptly at 8:00 a.m. for check in. The event will end around 4:00 p.m. Morning snacks\, lunch and beverages will be provided to students. If you have questions contact the registrar@audiclubgoldengate.org \nWe recommend that you check the weather forecast prior to the event and dress accordingly. We also encourage you to bring folding chairs as seating is limited. \nVolunteers/Instructors and Coaches\nFor this event\, we are also seeking volunteers to help us run the event. In this case\, all volunteers must be ACGG instructors\, or ACGG members that have a great deal of experience\, and who are interested in enhancing their coaching skills. If you are an instructor\, and wish to volunteer to help at this event\, please continue with the registration process\, and when you reach the registration form\, select the appropriate choice\, and fill in the requested information. \nWho are we?\nAudi Club Golden Gate (ACGG) is a chapter of the Audi Club of North America (ACNA)\, which is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with the purpose of educating its members in driver education\, driver safety training and education about the Audi brand. The Golden Gate Chapter serves the members in Northern California but our events are open to anyone. To support the educational experience\, the Golden Gate Chapter offers events from technical seminars\, fun drives\, social events\, tours and high precision driver education and safety seminars throughout the year. Please make sure that the year\, make\, model and color of the car you are bringing is accurately recorded during registration. \nIt is recommended that the teens bring the car they are most likely to drive on a daily basis and you should do a basic safety check prior to attending the clinic. (Do the brakes work? Is there tread on the tires and are they inflated properly? Are the brake lights functional\, etc.) While there will be a tech check at the event\, it is important that the vehicle be in a safe and road-worthy condition for the event.

DESCRIPTION:Driver Skills is a one-day clinic on the fundamentals of performance driving hosted by the Pacific Northwest Region of the Porsche Club of America. Appropriate for novices and experienced drivers alike\, Driver Skills will make you a safer\, more competent driver. Working 1:1 with our Porsche\, Audi and BMW club instructors\, students rotate in small groups through the following educational segments: \nGround school (classroom)\nSlalom\nWet skidpad\nThreshold braking and accident avoidance\nFigure-8\nAutocross\nDriver Skills runs from 7:50am (gates open at 7) to 3:30pm\, followed by an optional segment which runs to 6pm or dark\, whichever comes first. \nNone of the segments involve timing or competition. Instead\, you work 1:1 with our instructors at a pace appropriate for your experience and comfort level. Together\, the segments improve your ability to look ahead\, place the car precisely\, control weight transfer\, steer with the throttle\, and brake effectively. Run groups are small\, which means that wait time between runs is minimal. At the end of the primary sessions\, students are encouraged to apply the lessons of the day in an optional segment on a large maneuvering course. \nMany see this as great prep or skill growth for our Driver Education\, or Autocross events. This course also qualifies you for Driver Education (track driving) events with the local Audi and BMW clubs. \nThe Driver Skills participation fee is $175\, including a lunch. ($100 for qualified teen drivers). Limited helmet rentals are available for $30\, with the fee waived for those participants under 21 years of age.

DESCRIPTION:Chapter members and friends are invited to enjoy each other’s company at our annual Family Picnic in Pittsburgh’s picturesque Schenley Park (home of the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix). We’ll be congregating at the Overlook Shelter and request that attendees bring snacks\, food\, and/or drinks to share. Additional information will be posted on our Chapter website soon.
