DESCRIPTION:Welcome to Audi Club Potomac’s annual High Performance Driver’s Clinic (HPDC)\, sponsored by Audi Silver Spring! (Support sponsors that support Audi Club!) The HPDC will be held on Summit Point’s Jefferson Circuit and should be lots of fun. The event is focused on beginners/novice student participants who are starting to get engaged in track events or those who want to improve their driving skills for the daily commute. \nThis annual PCC-ACNA clinic is an instructional event tailored to the needs of members with no previous driving experience beyond the “normal” daily commute and driver’s ed classes. The clinic provides a safe controlled environment to learn and practice advanced defensive driving techniques and car control through a combination of classroom and on-track exercises. \nFor anyone who wishes to enhance their driving knowledge and enjoy a safer road experience through improved skills\, confidence and understanding\, this event is designed for that purpose. It provides the ideal start for those who may want to progress and participate in our two-day Drivers’ Education (DE) events. ABSOLUTELY NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED and there will be plenty of patient instructors to help guide you through the day. \nOver the past fifteen plus years\, we have developed an outstanding program that puts beginners and novices at ease and offers valuable instruction even for those who have recently started doing Drivers’ Education events. The morning is classroom and car-control exercises including a wet skidpad\, braking\, and slalom. The afternoon finishes off the event by applying what was learned in the morning with on-track driving.

DESCRIPTION:The spring drive starts at Pristine Autospa in Greenwood and ends in Columbus and is divided into three segments – Columbus to Bloomington\, Bloomington to Shoals and Shoals to Columbus\, optionally ending at Upland Brewery at the Pumpworks. It includes some of the more fun to drive roads in Southern Indiana – IN 46\, IN 450 and IN 58. The full distance is 179 miles. DESCRIPTION:High Performance Driving School\nApril 28-29\, 2025 \nWatkins Glen is one of the premier race tracks in the world. The list of legendary drivers that have graced the streets of Watkins Glen and the twists of Watkins Glen International is nearly second to none. The stars of all forms of racing – F1\, IRL\, sports car\, open-wheel\, and stock car – have come to The Glen for 60 years and many have left their mark on its history. The track is about three and a half miles long\, with eleven turns and several impressive uphill and downhill sections and is known for its challenging elevation changes. The track is situated high on a hillside\, with expansive views of Seneca Lake. For more information on the track\, please visit TheGlen.com. \nThe town of Watkins Glen sits at the foot of Seneca Lake\, the largest and deepest of New York’s Finger Lakes\, in the very middle of Finger Lakes Wine Country. Immediately to the north of the town\, on either side of the lake\, there are dozens of vineyards each with its own shops with free wine tastings. There are also spas\, shopping and museums and a “Gorgeous” State Park in the area for spouses who might want to make the trip but not spend a lot of time at the track. \nRegistration Fees \nStudents: $695 per student for two days\, $445 for one day.\nInstructors: Event fees are waived in appreciation of your instruction. \nWhat is a High Performance Driving School? \nThe purpose of a driving school is quite simple: to improve your driving skills. We conduct the school on a racetrack under the close supervision of experienced and trained instructors. You will learn how to handle and control your vehicle at speeds not normally attained on public roads. This will help to prepare you for emergencies in normal driving. It will also allow you to explore your capabilities as a driver and those of your vehicle in a controlled environment. At no time will you be encouraged to go any faster than is comfortable. All participants will be organized into run groups in accordance with experience\, skill\, and type of vehicle. \nWhat you learn on the track depends on your driving skill. Beginners are taught driving style (smoothness\, consistency\, the ability to read the track)\, more experienced participants continue to work on consistency\, while developing new skills such as trail braking and threshold braking. As a beginner\, every time you are on the track\, you will have an experienced instructor with you in the passenger seat. \nFor experienced drivers\, you can be “signed off” and drive solo when you have proven to your instructor and the Chief Instructor that you understand the basics of high speed driving\, you can consistently drive the correct line\, and you show proper etiquette on track. Maturity\, good judgment\, skill\, and significant experience will lead to being signed off for solo driving. \nThough you are on a racetrack\, other drivers of similar driving skills\, it is not a race. Passing in corners is not allowed\, and you are not expected to shift at redline\, or go screaming through each corner with the tires squealing. Safety of the event is of the utmost importance. Driver conduct will be diligently monitored throughout the day by the staff\, instructors\, and corner workers. \nTrack Time \nYou will have four on-track sessions varying from 20-30 minutes each. At the end of the event you will have had between 1.5 to 2 hours on-track. That’s a lot of driving time and a lot of personalized high-quality instruction. \nClassroom \nYour day is divided between driving on the track\, classroom sessions\, and free time. Yes\, this is a school\, and there is mandatory classroom time. All participants are required to attend classroom sessions throughout the day to learn vehicle dynamics and driving techniques. \nIn the classroom\, you learn a lot of high speed driving theory. Learn about the difference between an early and late apex. You’ll get a better understanding of car dynamics so you understand what is really happening when you brake or why your car understeers or oversteers in certain circumstances. Each classroom will also include an opportunity for Q&A. \nDo I need to own an Audi? \nWe welcome all makes of cars — you don’t have to drive an Audi to enjoy our events. This school is an excellent way for you to improve your driving skills and have fun too! \nAll participants must simply be members of the Audi Club of North America (ACNA). There is a $49 fee for annual membership. We love welcoming first-timers to our events and we have a good number of first-timers at each one – you will not be alone. Your novice classroom teacher and your personal instructor are ready to make you comfortable and give you the tools and confidence to enjoy driving your car on the race-track. Don’t forget – this is not competition driving. There is no overtaking in corners or racing other cars. This is all about having a safe and enjoyable experience. \nWe have some restrictions on driving convertibles and you will need a helmet. Requirements are on the next page. Please get your car inspected at least two weeks before the event to avoid disappointment if the inspection uncovers repairs that must be completed before the car will pass. \nThe Northeast Region of the Audi Club (NEQ) recognizes several Audi-VW tuners and service centers. They are NEQ supporters with years of experience and scores of satisfied customers. As a benefit for NEQ members they will provide free tech pre-inspection for applicants of our schools. Bring your Safety Inspection Checklist form. After inspection they will sign your form to be sure you are eligible for our event. Naturally there will be a charge for any parts or labor that are additionally required to prepare your vehicle. Two of these sites are APR distributors. They are all participants of our events with much experience in regard to car preparation and advice for upgrades. You will also be happy with the services of any Audi dealership but may utilize another dealership or full-time automotive repair shop at whatever rate you agree to . DESCRIPTION:Driver Skills is a one-day clinic on the fundamentals of performance driving hosted by the Pacific Northwest Region of the Porsche Club of America. Appropriate for novices and experienced drivers alike\, Driver Skills will make you a safer\, more competent driver. Working 1:1 with our Porsche\, Audi and BMW club instructors\, students rotate in small groups through the following educational segments: \nGround school (classroom)\nSlalom\nWet skidpad\nThreshold braking and accident avoidance\nFigure-8\nAutocross\nDriver Skills runs from 7:50am (gates open at 7) to 3:30pm\, followed by an optional segment which runs to 6pm or dark\, whichever comes first. \nNone of the segments involve timing or competition. Instead\, you work 1:1 with our instructors at a pace appropriate for your experience and comfort level. Together\, the segments improve your ability to look ahead\, place the car precisely\, control weight transfer\, steer with the throttle\, and brake effectively. Run groups are small\, which means that wait time between runs is minimal. At the end of the primary sessions\, students are encouraged to apply the lessons of the day in an optional segment on a large maneuvering course. \nMany see this as great prep or skill growth for our Driver Education\, or Autocross events. This course also qualifies you for Driver Education (track driving) events with the local Audi and BMW clubs. \nThe Driver Skills participation fee is $175\, including a lunch. ($100 for qualified teen drivers). Limited helmet rentals are available for $30\, with the fee waived for those participants under 21 years of age.

Weather permitting\, we’ll set up a large\, flatscreen TV and chairs in Mark’s driveway to enjoy the race\, food\, and libations\, as we have done the past several years.

SUMMARY:Audi Club Wisconsin: Teen Car Control Clinic
DESCRIPTION:The Teen Car Control Clinic will teach many car control skills not taught in Standard Driver Education courses. It is open to teens of all ages (adults are also encouraged to register) who wish to improve their car control skills. \nMotor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for United States teenagers\, accounting for more than one in three deaths. Young people are at a greater risk for traffic accidents due to one major reason – lack of experience. Safe driving is a learned skill. The clinic is designed to heighten students’ awareness and responsiveness to real-world situations and boost confidence in their driving skills. \nTHE CLINIC TEACHES: the fundamentals of vehicle control during the classroom session as well as invaluable behind-the-wheel exercises with instruction emphasizing:\n• Driving basics – Driver courtesy\n• Proactive vs. reactive driving techniques\n• Importance of vision\n• Proper braking concepts with and without ABS\n• Effects of vehicle weight transfer\n• Cornering – understeer and oversteer\n• Unexpected lane changes\nThe cost is a tax-deductible donation of $77.00 ($75.00 event cost + $2.00 MSR fee) which includes a lunch for the participant and the accompanying parent/guardian. \nCourse requirements:\n• The driver needs a valid driver’s license or learner’s permit.\n• A parent or guardian must attend the clinic with the teen driver.\n• We recommend the teen uses the car he or she typically drives.\n• The car must be insured\, in good working condition and have good tires.\nRegistration and payment:\nIt’ s easy. DESCRIPTION:Some of you will recall that Chapter leadership has been searching for ways to offer our members better access to quality performance driving instruction that is not oriented toward racing. Now\, in partnership with SCCA Atlanta Region\, we are offering an opportunity to do just that. Saturday\, May 10\, SCCA is hosting a Novice/Performance Driving School at Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton. Audi Atlanta’s Bernardo Noguez-Ibarra and his wife Ursula have been participating in these Autocross events for some time and are our liaisons with SCCA. We plan to have several board members present\, so please let us know if you plan to register for this event.\nThis is an introductory event for drivers of any experience level to learn better car control and stronger mental control in a completely safe\, non-racing environment. The only obstacles you’ll encounter are the selfless little orange rubber cones that define the course layout. Sign up through MotorsportReg at the link below.\nOne on one instruction will be provided by seasoned SCCA volunteers\, and you’ll be driving your own car\, so everything will be familiar to you already. There will be timing lights\, but strictly for information only. This is NOT a competitive event! It will be fun\, though. Each car will proceed through the course separately in an Autocross format.
