DESCRIPTION:DeutscheMarques 12 set a record of 646 cars on display in 2024\, making it largest all-German car show in America.  They hope to break that record again this year\, with the 13th annual event.  The show takes place on the Campania Barn Lawn of the Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners\, MI (about a 3.5 hr drive from suburban Chicago). It features all of your favorite German marques and everything from daily drivers to weekend treasures\, including Audi\, BMW\, Porsche\, Mercedes-Benz\, and Volkswagen. \nJoin us for our group drive and rendezvous with the Audi Club Michigan chapter. We are planning two group drives.  The show opens at 9 am eastern\, and ends at 3pm. If you intend to display your car within the show\, plan on getting up early. We will determine a meeting point\, meet at about 6 am central and caravan to Hickory Corners\, MI. It is suggested you register and buy your ticket early. 2025 Ticket Link Just want to be a spectator? The second group will leave at a more reasonable hour and also caravan to Hickory Corners\, MI. Please note\, if you want to display your car and are in the second group\, parking is limited\, and you may not be able to enter the lawn display area.  There is however\, plenty of spectator parking.

DESCRIPTION:Audi Club Northwest presents the July Driver Skills and Teen Clinic at Bremerton Motorsports Park! \nDriver Skills is a one-day clinic on the fundamentals of performance driving hosted by the Northwest Chapter of Audi Club North America. Appropriate for novices and experienced drivers alike\, Driver Skills will make you a safer\, more competent driver. Working 1:1 with our Audi\, BMW and Porsche club instructors\, students rotate in small groups through the following educational segments: \nGround school (classroom)\nSlalom\nWet skid pad\nThreshold braking and accident avoidance\nFigure-8\nAutocross\nDriver Skills runs from 7:50am (gates open at 7) to 3:30pm\, followed by an optional segment which runs to 6pm or dark\, whichever comes first. \nNone of the segments involve timing or competition. Instead\, you work 1:1 with our instructors at a pace appropriate for your experience and comfort level. Together\, the segments improve your ability to look ahead\, place the car precisely\, control weight transfer\, steer with the throttle\, and brake effectively. Run groups are small\, which means that wait time between runs is minimal. At the end of the primary sessions\, students are encouraged to apply the lessons of the day in an optional segment on a large maneuvering course. \nMany see this program as a great way to improve their driving and car control skills for everyday driving in any weather conditions.  In addition\, this course prepares and qualifies you for high-performance driving education (HPDE) events with the local Audi\, BMW\, and Porsche clubs. \nThe Driver Skills participation fee is $185\, including lunch. ($105 for qualified teen drivers). \nAudi Club Northwest may share event registration information with Audi Club North America (ACNA)\, which aggregates this data for marketing and informational purposes. We know what it’s like to drive on a racetrack for the first time: exciting\, unique\, maybe a bit overwhelming. So we work with you to make your experience as fun and enjoyable as OUR first day! Your classroom teacher and personal in-car instructor will make you comfortable and give you the confidence to explore the performance of your car. \nFrom first-timer through novice to experienced performance driver\, NEQ has a run-group and coaching experience just for you and your car. Jump at this opportunity to learn and develop your driving skills in a safe\, controlled environment\, learning from some of the finest instructors in the area. We conduct the school on a racetrack under the close supervision of experienced and trained instructors. You will learn how to handle and control your vehicle at speeds not normally attained on public roads. This will help to prepare you for emergencies in normal driving. It will also allow you to explore your capabilities as a driver and those of your vehicle in a controlled environment. At no time will you be encouraged to go any faster than is comfortable. All participants will be organized into run groups in accordance with experience\, skill\, and type of vehicle. \nWhat you learn on the track depends on your driving skill. Beginners are taught driving style (smoothness\, consistency\, the ability to read the track)\, more experienced participants continue to work on consistency\, while developing new skills such as trail braking and threshold braking. As a beginner\, every time you are on the track\, you will have an experienced instructor with you in the passenger seat. \nFor experienced drivers\, you can be “signed off” and drive solo when you have proven to your instructor and the Chief Instructor that you understand the basics of high speed driving\, you can consistently drive the correct line\, and you show proper etiquette on track. Maturity\, good judgment\, skill\, and significant experience will lead to being signed off for solo driving. \nThough you are on a racetrack\, other drivers of similar driving skills\, it is not a race. Passing in corners is not allowed\, and you are not expected to shift at redline\, or go screaming through each corner with the tires squealing. Safety of the event is of the utmost importance. Driver conduct will be diligently monitored throughout the day by the staff\, instructors\, and corner workers. \nTrack Time \nEach run group will have 5\, 20-25 minute sessions both days\, totalling 3 hrs\, 25 minutes of weekend driving time. On Saturday\, we’ll also begin the day with a full course yellow session where all driver groups may drive with no passing. We’ve received a lot of positive feedback regarding this session as it allows everyone to familiarize themselves with the track line\, surroundings and flagger stations at a slow to moderate pace. \nClassroom \nYour day is divided between driving on the track\, classroom sessions\, and free time. Yes\, this is a school\, and there is mandatory classroom time. All participants are required to attend classroom sessions throughout the day to learn vehicle dynamics and driving techniques. \nIn the classroom\, you learn a lot of high speed driving theory. Learn about the difference between an early and late apex. You’ll get a better understanding of car dynamics so you understand what is really happening when you brake or why your car understeers or oversteers in certain circumstances. Each classroom will also include an opportunity for Q&A. \nDo I need to own an Audi? \nWe welcome all makes of cars — you don’t have to drive an Audi to enjoy our events. Be sure to study all of this information before attending any NEQ track event. \n– Clothing\n– Vehicle Requirements\n– Tech pre-inspection\n– Open Top Cars: Open top car owners read this section carefully!\n– Track Terms\n– Tires\n– Helmets: A helmet with a SNELL SA2015 or SA2020 rating are the only helmets that may be used.\n– Flags \nTech Pre-Inspection: \nWell in advance of any on-track driving event\, you’ll need to get your car pre-inspected by a competent mechanic\, who will have to provide a completed and signed copy of the Safety Inspection Checklist form for you to bring with you to registration. Please get your car inspected at least two weeks before the event to avoid disappointment if the inspection uncovers repairs that must be completed before the car will pass. \nThe Northeast Region of the Audi Club (NEQ) recognizes several Audi-VW tuners and service centers. They are NEQ supporters with years of experience and scores of satisfied customers. As a benefit for NEQ members they will provide free tech pre-inspection for applicants of our schools. Bring your Safety Inspection Checklist form. After inspection they will sign your form to be sure you are eligible for our event. Naturally there will be a charge for any parts or labor that are additionally required to prepare your vehicle. Two of these sites are APR distributors. They are all participants of our events with much experience in regard to car preparation and advice for upgrades. You will also be happy with the services of any Audi dealership but may utilize another dealership or full-time automotive repair shop at whatever rate you agree to.
