To all Audi Club of Florida Members and Audi Enthusiasts:
On September 22nd, join fellow Audi Club of Florida members and Audi enthusiasts at ABT-Tuning in Miami (ABT Sportsline, 16560 NW 10th avenue, Miami, FL 33169) for a lite breakfast and then as we set off on our drive to Key West. We have put in our reservations for good weather, no hurricanes permitted and plan to make this leisurely drive southwest then west across the sea paralleling Flagler’s old railway bridges passing through such places recalled in history as Islamorada by the disastrous Hurricane of 1935 Labor_Day_hurricane or the Key Largo of Bogart and Bacall fame Key Largo, then the Seven Mile Bridge at Marathon, we will view the Bahia-Honda bridge and motor on into the Conch Republic of Pirates and Pelicans and as our final destination gathering around a little bit of additional history near the Martello Tower for one last group photo op. We will then head to the Marriott hotel to check in, freshen up, rest or do additional individual exploring as desired. The Florida Keys have a great history of real pirates, wreckers (a dubious occupation), lost and found gold and if at times over commercialized can still be very a very beautiful place. An intriguing item to check out is the free range chickens roaming the streets not too far from Harry S Truman’s compound. I have often wondered how many of those cackling birds have ended up in someone’s cast iron stewing skillet or paella. So hopefully the traffic will not be too heavy. If you are lucky enough to own an Audi Cabrio or Spyder peel the top back, otherwise open the windows, turn up your Bose or Bang & Olufsen to Hendriks or Hayden, Johann Bach or Jimmy Buffet, take in the smell of the ocean and Coppertone and join us as we make this pilgrimage to the Conch Republic.

We will be having a dinner that evening around 6:30 PM in a dining room reserved for us at the hotel. Early enough for those who want to step out later or to bed as some will have a long drive home on Sunday. For those who are early risers, Sunday morning we will meet at the southern most point of the US for a photo op similar to the one above this announcement. Hopefully we will have a black, red and yellow Audi to replicate the colors of the German flag but if not, perhaps red white and blue ones would be fine. If both, that would be the best of all possible worlds.
One new item is that this event is open to both ACNA/ACFL and non-ACNA members in the hopes that some of the non-ACNA participants will join the national organization. All participants must sign the insurance waiver prior to departure from ABT Tuners in Miami.
Your registration including a $15 registration fee made out to the Audi Club of Florida with the number in your party must be received no later than September 14, 2018. This needs to be mailed to the Audi Club of Florida C/O Robert Greving Post Office Box 66156 St Pete Beach 33706. Florida. Along with your check, please include a short note with your name, address, ACNA number if a member, Audi year, model and color and email address. You will receive an email confirming receipt of your registration.
