DESCRIPTION:Last winter’s NEQ ski trip to was so successful\, Scott Hochgraf and Douglas Cowieson are planning another visit to Stratton Mountain. The format will be much the same as 2026. It will be a two day event with skiing on February 1st and 2nd. There will be a number of highly skilled ski instructors available with coaching and instruction for all standards. \nFinal pricing for day tickets\, accommodation and the social event should be nailed down within the next few weeks. DESCRIPTION:Audi Club Northwest presents University of Quattro Driver Skills and Teen Clinic at Pacific Raceways \nDriver Skills is a one-day clinic on the fundamentals of performance driving hosted by the Northwest Chapter of Audi Club North America. Appropriate for novices and experienced drivers alike\, Driver Skills will make you a safer\, more competent driver. Working 1:1 with our Audi\, BMW and Porsche club instructors\, students rotate in small groups through the following educational segments: \nGround school (classroom)\nSlalom\nWet skid pad\nThreshold braking and accident avoidance\nFigure-8\nAutocross\nDriver Skills runs from 7:50am (gates open at 7) to 3:30pm\, followed by an optional segment which runs to 5pm. \nNone of the segments involve timing or competition. Instead\, you work 1:1 with our instructors at a pace appropriate for your experience and comfort level. Together\, the segments improve your ability to look ahead\, place the car precisely\, control weight transfer\, steer with the throttle\, and brake effectively. Run groups are small\, which means that wait time between runs is minimal. At the end of the primary sessions\, students are encouraged to apply the lessons of the day in an optional segment on a large maneuvering course. \nMany see this program as a great way to improve their driving and car control skills for everyday driving in any weather conditions.  In addition\, this course prepares and qualifies you for high-performance driving education (HPDE) events with the local Audi\, BMW\, and Porsche clubs. \nThe Driver Skills participation fee is $185\, including lunch. ($105 for qualified teen drivers). \nAudi Club Northwest may share event registration information with Audi Club North America (ACNA)\, which aggregates this data for marketing and informational purposes. Shared information is managed according to the ACNA privacy policy.

You brake\, turn the wheel\, and the car keeps moving toward the outside of the corner. What do you do next? \nAt the NAAC Winter Driving School\, you get to find out in a safe\, controlled environment – with an experienced instructor beside you. You’ll learn how to recognize and recover from skids\, control understeer and oversteer\, brake more effectively on snow and ice\, manage weight transfer\, and keep your eyes where the car needs to go. \nThis is the place to explore the limits of traction on purpose – at low speed\, on a closed course\, with coaching. \nSee the school in action: WATCH THE VIDEO \nIf you would like to learn to control your car in slippery conditions\, to handle every type of skid (including correcting understeer and oversteer)\, and to stop more quickly in snowy or icy conditions then join the North Atlantic Audi Club for one (or both!) of our premier winter driving schools\, to be held the last weekend in January and February at the Team O’Neil Rally School in Dalton\, NH. It’s a safe\, low-speed event on a closed course with expert instruction in a fun atmosphere.  And\, there will be ample opportunity to socialize with like-minded enthusiasts. \n \nWhat you’ll actually do \n\nSkid pad – learn what understeer and oversteer feel like\, and how to correct both.\nSlalom – build vision\, smoothness\, weight-transfer control\, and the right amount of steering input.\nCombined snow course – put the classroom principles together through a variety of corners and changing traction.\nTeam driving event – finish Saturday with a little friendly competition.\nSunday finale – consolidate your skills through repetition\, then take on the optional time trial where smoothness and consistency matter.\n\n \nNew driver? Experienced driver? You’ll have plenty to learn. \nThe school is designed to work at your pace. Novices focus on skid recovery\, smoothness\, vision\, and consistency. Drivers who have mastered the basics can work with instructors on more advanced techniques such as handbrake turns\, left-foot braking\, threshold braking\, trailing-throttle oversteer\, and the Scandinavian flick. \nBring the vehicle you actually drive \nConvertibles\, trucks\, front-wheel drive\, rear-wheel drive\, and all-wheel-drive vehicles are welcome – and they do not have to be Audis. This is a chance to learn how your own car behaves when traction is limited. \nThe same fundamentals that help you recover from a winter skid – vision\, smooth inputs\, balance\, weight transfer\, and understanding available grip – also translate directly to autocross and track driving. \nWinter tire requirement \nFront- and rear-wheel-drive vehicles must have snow tires on the drive wheels at a minimum. Look for the mountain/snowflake symbol shown here on the tire sidewall. \n \nMake a weekend of it \nThe school officially begins Saturday morning\, but the weekend starts Friday evening at the Hampton Inn.
