On the seventh day, of the seventh month, our seventh annual show set new records! Over 350 German cars from five states and thousands of visitors descended upon the Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners, Michigan (about 2 hours’ drive from both Chicago, IL and Detroit, MI) for the Seventh Annual DeutscheMarques German car show. The weather could not have been more beautiful – low 80’s, low humidity and 0% change of rain. Both daily drivers and Garage Queens came out in force, to set a new record, making DeutscheMarques the largest all German car show in the Midwest and arguably the USA!

As always, there were some spectacular vehicles in the field. A local collector provided two stunning 1930’s Mercedes-Benz 540k’s. Including a 1937 Mercedes-Benz 540k Sindelfingen Cabriolet; prior winner of the Pebble Beach Concourse d’Elegance.

Audi had thirty-four vehicles in attendance, a 25% increase over the prior year. Including a 2017 R8, 2017 RS 3 and 2018 RS 5; as well as numerous “S” models, TT’s and Avant’s.

The Best in Show winners received beautiful crystal trophies and were cheered by an appreciative crowd. The coveted “Best in Show” crystal trophy was awarded to one car in each marque, with Best in Show Audi being awarded to a beautiful 1985 Ur Quattro owned by Werner and Inge. The vehicle is an all original European Spec rolling restoration.

This was also the first year for our new exclusive Marque Sponsor, Audi Kalamazoo (part of the Maple Hill Auto Group).
