European Car Magazine Ends Publication

There’s sad news for Audi enthusiasts from the world of publishing this week as multiple confirmations come in that European Car Magazine will be ending its decades long run. The publication has been a favorite amongst enthusiasts of all European Car brands, and the top for profit magazine for Audi enthusiasts in the U.S. market.

The magazine began life as VW & Porsche, covering all things in the space but with a heavy focus on those two brands and Audi by corporate ownership default. It widened its scope in the 1990s by changing its name, and has existed as a standard for many American enthusiasts, not to mention a key advertising outlet for companies catering to Audi owners.

The book’s demise comes as a cutting-back by its owners The Enthusiast Network that also publishes other car magazines such as Motor Trend. That company recently merged with the Discovery Network, and a perceived shift toward video content may have played a factor in European Car’s fate.

We’d like to wish the now former staff at European Car the best of luck in the future. We’re heartbroken by the loss. Admittedly inspired by the model set, we’ll do our best to continue to improve the Audi Club North America’s own quattro quarterly publication.

For now, you can still visit the European Car web presence HERE.
