ItalDesign Teases Believed Electric Concept Car Ahead of Geneva Motor Show

With just one more week until the Geneva Motor Show opens, many manufacturers are teasing or outright revealing their planned debuts for this hallmark automotive industry show. One more amongst them with relevance to our readers is that of ItalDesign. It appears, the Audi-owned design firm plans a car design reveal that is believed to be powered by an electric drivetrain.

Not much is known from ItalDesign themselves. They’ve shared these images, including this latest drawing showing the car and confirming details of gull wing doors via their Facebook page.

A few more details appear to be leaked via the Auto and Design magazine Facebook page. That magazine, known for its coverage of the automotive design industry, suggests the car will be known as DaVinci and also seems to confirm the electric drivetrain. Given the renaissance era sketch pad look of the design drawing, we’re guessing they are spot on with the name and drivetrain details.

Given ItalDesign is owned by Audi, the next question is whether the car will go into series production and, if so, which platform architecture and components underpin the car. Expect more details to surface next week on March 5 when the car is revealed to the press.
