Competitive Balloting Elects New Directors to Audi Club Board

Audi Club North America announces the election of three new Directors to serve three-year terms from 2019 through 2021. The new Directors are Ryan Compton from Alexandria, Virginia, of the Potomac-Chesapeake Chapter; Pat O’Neal of Newcastle, Washington from the Golden Gate Chapter, and Talia Spain of Newnan, Georgia a member of the Georgia Chapter.

“I’ve had a chance to meet Pat, Ryan, and Talia at Audi Club events this year,” reported Audi Club Executive Director, Paul Truess, “Each of them brings a unique perspective on the future of Audi Club. Together they all bring a strong Audi passion to their new board roles.”

The 2018 election featured a slate of five candidates which created a competitive election for the first time in 8 years,” stated Truess, “We thank the other candidates who were nominated and ran. They will continue to be a force within Audi Club into the future.” Dan Garber representing the Northwest Chapter stepped forward to serve the club, was nominated, and stood for election. Showing his desire to continue serving, Ted Dannemiller of the Georgia Chapter ran for his second board term.

Outgoing Directors: Gregg Gumbinger from the Golden Gate Chapter, has served as board member for two terms since 2013 most recently as Treasurer. Ted Dannemiller of the Georgia Chapter was elected to the board in 2016 and is the current Vice-President. Marcel Velasquez, a member of the Golden Gate Chapter, has served since 2017 – appointed to complete the term of Cat Hanson who resigned.

The new Board members Compton, O’Neal, and Spain will be joined by existing National Board Directors: Bud Dannemiller (Kentucky Chapter), currently serving as President, Roger Labas (Carolinas Chapter), Christine Lemley (Potomac-Chesapeake Chapter), Jay Morgenroth (Wisconsin Chapter), Troy Sicotte (Golden Gate Chapter), and Gordon Varney (Eastern Canada Chapter) Secretary.

The new 2019 Board will meet early in the new year to elect officers to a one-year term for the positions of President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer.

Elections in 2018 for members of the Audi Club National Board of Directors to serve a three-year term were held online using a secure web site. Results of the elections were monitored and verified by the accounting firm Wegner CPAs.
