About us: Originally from NE Ohio, we both grew up around cars, as the Ohio Valley was home to both GM and Ford assembly plants – a couple of the areas primary job providers. Carolyn’s father worked at GM’s Lordstown plant and had access to all the “new hotness” cars at their launch, so she grew up talking cars and attending Hot Rod Super Nationals. She was also lucky to live directly off the show’s main strip, getting a front row seat to burnout and drag racing competitions. Carolyn’s first modified vehicle was a 2001 Mazda Protege MP3 edition 2.0L. It was a fun vehicle with a manual transmission, bright yellow exterior, and custom carbon interior. It certainly turned heads but was terribly slow. Gary’s family was heavily invested in everything automotive with businesses specializing in automotive detail, body repair/restoration, and used car sales. He first began modifying vehicles in the early 2000s with a 1996 Camaro 3.6L – arguably one of the slowest vehicles he’s owned to date. Fast forward many years later to Carolyn trading in her base Jetta for an A6 Prestige. This unlocked a whole new world of vehicles because, WOW. It was classy, sleek, and beautiful with a striking deep brown interior and matte wood trim. Since this was our first Audi, she took it to a Euro specific shop to get a quick check over and an oil change. A couple hours later, she pulled it into the garage with a clean bill of health, fresh oil, and almost +150 horsepower. She’d discovered tuning and with that, Audi pulled us in quick and for life. We now find ourselves with a fully modified German fleet! (with just a dash of Italian engineering and a Jeep) We love to contribute toward making positive change everywhere we go. We hope to be able to do that within our club too.
