Registration opens Friday, September 1st for SoCal Audi Club's High Performance Driving School at Buttonwillow Raceway Park. We will spend three full days driving the long course on the weekend before Thanksgiving -- Friday, September 17, 2017 - Sunday, September 19, 2017. Our driving schools are an experience you don't want to miss! You will learn about your car and improve your driving skills in a fun, safe, and welcoming environment.
New! The big news this Fall is that many models of Convertibles are now accepted at Audi Club Driving Schools! Bring your Audi Cabriolet to the track and see what the excitement is all about. Check our website for details.
New! Certain small SUV/CUV (i.e., Q3, Q5, SQ5, Allroad) are now permitted in the Beginner & Novice groups at our weekend driving schools. Additional restrictions apply - see the registration materials or our website for details and a complete list of permitted vehicles.
New! Safely explore your car's handling at the limit and practice your recovery techniques, all while fine-tuning your vision skills. For the first time at Buttonwillow we will conduct a wet car control course on the skid pad. This is in addition to the track day, and will be available to all registered drivers on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning & afternoon.
That's not all! We've planned more excitement for you this year:
- On Friday's Experienced Driver Day we will run the long course counter-clockwise - that's the opposite direction from usual. Unlike last year, Friday is an exclusive Audi Club day. Drivers approved by Audi Club to drive solo at Buttonwillow are encouraged to join us! There is no formal instruction on Friday - beginners and novices are welcome at the weekend driving school.
- We are auctioning a fabulous overnight experience at exclusive Inde Motorsports Ranch at the Saturday night banquet.
- All activities, including the Friday evening supper and meetings and the Saturday night banquet, will be held at the track in Audi Club's big-top Tent.
