Audi’s New Apps Make Parking, Charging and Fueling Easier
[Source: Audi]
Parking, charging and fueling your Audi are not necessarily the most exciting aspects. But Audi is making those chores easier than ever by adding two services to its app portfolio. “EasyPark” makes paying for parking effortless, while “ryd” handles fueling, charging and even car washes, all from the comfort of the car. As long as your car is in Europe.
Audi is the first automaker to fully integrate these third-party apps directly into its MMI infotainment system. Ryd is already available on Audi models equipped with the Audi Application Store, while EasyPark is set to roll out by the end of Q1 2026. After downloading the apps, drivers simply complete a one-time account setup with the provider, including payment details, and they’re ready to go.
EasyPark and ryd
EasyPark is designed to make parking across Europe almost effortless. The app works at more than 60,000 locations in roughly 1,300 cities, covering everything from street parking to garages and private lots. When an Audi stops in a supported space and is shifted into Park, the MMI automatically prompts the driver to start a parking session, thanks to GPS-based triggers. One tap activates the digital meter. As the prepaid time runs low, drivers receive a smartphone alert and can extend the session either through the app or directly in the car. When the vehicle pulls away and exceeds 15 km/h, the system automatically ends the parking session.
The ryd app brings fuel, charging, and even car washes into one seamless, contactless experience. In Germany, it works with major brands like Aral and Esso, as well as many local stations, and supports about 90 percent of all charging points. Altogether, ryd connects drivers to more than 10,000 fuel stations and over a million charging points across Europe.
Charging and Fueling
Using it is straightforward. Nearby fuel stations are automatically detected, and the MMI opens the app. Drivers select the station, enter the pump number, choose a maximum fuel amount and payment method, then follow the prompts. Once fueling is complete, payment is confirmed in the MMI and you’re on your way.
Charging follows a similar process. The app helps locate compatible stations, and with one tap, the destination is sent to the navigation system, triggering battery preconditioning via the e-tron route planner. Upon arrival, ryd opens automatically—simply select the charger, plug in, and start the session. When finished, unplug or end the session in the MMI, wait for payment confirmation, and drive off—no charging cards, contracts, or QR codes required. Even booking a car wash can be handled with just a few taps inside the app.
These new applications are specific to Europe at the moment. However, we hope to see app integration like this in the U.S. at some point. Audi already has a range of third-party apps available here such as Disney+, Spotify and YouTube. And with the release of EasyPark and ryd we see what the future could hold for us in America.
