Audi has been offering night vision assist in select models for about a decade now. However, the German automaker seems to be looking for a solution that will help future Audi models perform even better in low-light situations. According to a press release by Foresight Autonomous Holdings Ltd., they were invited to attend the Audi “Minds and Makers” event to demonstrate their terrain intelligence solution.
Foresight was founded in 2015, and they develop advanced 3D perception systems and cellular-based applications. Foresight was chosen to showcase its terrain intelligence system, which delivers real-time 3D terrain analysis with precise depth perception and road surface detection. Using dense 3D point clouds and both visible and thermal cameras, the technology remains effective even in foggy conditions or complete darkness.

At the event, Foresight carried out in-car demonstrations and met with Audi team members to discuss potential collaboration, including a possible proof-of-concept project to evaluate how the technology could be integrated into Audi’s development workflows and future vehicle platforms.
Audi’s interest in Foresight’s terrain intelligence fits into a broader industry trend where automakers are increasingly leaning on advanced perception technologies to enhance vehicle safety and autonomy. These systems are designed to give vehicles a more accurate understanding of their surroundings, an essential requirement for both driver-assist features and future autonomous capabilities.
From Foresight’s perspective, being selected by a premium brand like Audi offers valuable exposure and a potential pathway to commercialization. For a company developing cutting-edge 3D perception systems, opportunities to collaborate directly with major OEMs can accelerate testing, refinement, and eventual adoption of their solution in real vehicles.
While the announcement doesn’t yet reflect a formal contract or production rollout, the event marks an important step for both parties. Audi gets a hands-on look at technology that could bolster its future safety and perception systems, and Foresight gains an influential platform to showcase its terrain intelligence in front of one of the automotive industry’s most respected engineering teams.
