Audi RS 3 Sportback Production Version Spied

We featured a heavily-camouflaged RS 3 at the Nürburgring awhile ago but this is the first time our photographers have spied a production version of the new RS 3 Sportback. The earlier photos were mules with a modified A3 body rather than the actual production ready prototypes.

These photos show less camouflage and wider fenders all around. Hidden under the camouflaged front fender, they noticed an air outlet behind the front wheels, production rear bumper with the proper oval exhaust pipes, and a rear spoiler.

Set for a debut in 2020, the new RS 3 will get an updated version of the 2.5 liter 5-cylinder turbo engine found in the current RS 3 where it develops 400 horsepower. We expect a smaller power bump in the new version even if we also expect the usage of a particle filter to be used in order to keep emissions lower. With Audi’s European factories gradually coming back online, we don’t know exactly when it will debut.
