When it comes to valuation of older vehicles, classic car insurer Hagerty is one of the best sources. In as much, their annual “Bull Market List” of classic cars to watch tends to identify trends worth watching for enthusiasts seeking to enjoy a car that won’t break the bank. For 2023, that list includes the 2008-2015 Audi R8 (Mk1). While we’d challenge the term “classic” being applied to the first-generation R8, there’s no doubt it’s an icon sought-after by collectors.
Hagerty notes that lookups on R8 valuation have doubled over the last 12 months. At the same time, pricing has remained strong, from just under $100,000 well into the $200,000s depending on the grade of car.
