For the second consecutive year, the Audi Q7, based on driving dynamics and its innovative suite of infotainment and connectivity features, was named a 2018 Car and Driver “10Best Truck & SUV of the Year” winner in the mid-size luxury category.

Car and Driver editors recognized the Q7 for its passenger comfort, versatile cargo space and driving dynamics, and as one of the best vehicles to “combine an ability to tackle practical jobs with innovative technologies and luxury trimmings.”

“The Audi Q7 offers our customers an exceptional driving experience and the latest connected car applications and driver assistance systems – in addition to comfortable seating for seven passengers,” said Scott Keogh, president, Audi of America. “For the Q7 to emerge as Car and Driver’s 10Best Truck & SUV of the Year further demonstrates how Audi is setting a new benchmark for the luxury SUV segment.”

Through a combination of clean and simple lines, and innovative technology, the seven-passenger Audi Q7 interior offers drivers and passengers alike an exceptional driving experience. The interior of the Q7 represents a higher standard being set by Audi for its premium comfort and technology matched by the brand’s signature fit and finish. Standard panoramic sunroof with power sunshade brings light into the cabin while available Bang & Olufsen® 3D Advanced Sound System lends concert hall definition to the interior.

The innovative Audi virtual cockpit transforms the way the driver interacts with the Q7, allowing for an entirely digital customization of information inclusive of navigation and audio. A quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor that can deliver vibrant color at 60 frames per second helps to enhance the infotainment viewing and navigating experience via the large Google Earth™ images within the virtual cockpit (supported with 4G LTE where available).

In addition to infotainment and connectivity features, the advanced Audi Q7 driver assistance systems are designed to help drivers navigate the road and traffic with confidence. Standard Audi pre sense® basic and city can help prepare the vehicle for impact in the case of an impending collision. Available Audi pre sense rear helps monitor the traffic following the vehicle and takes similar actions to Audi pre sense basic while available Audi side assist helps provide blind spot monitoring via LED indicators on the exterior mirror housing.

Two powertrain combinations are offered on the Q7, a 3.0-liter TFSI® V6 engine or an available 2.0-liter TFSI® four-cylinder engine. Starting at $49,000*, the well-equipped Q7 with 2.0T engine is a more accessible luxury SUV option. Both engines are equipped with quattro® all-wheel drive and an eight-speed Tiptronic® transmission.

Car and Driver’s “10Best Truck & SUV” awards are inclusive of 10 categories, ranging from full-size pickup, mid-size pickup, and van, as well as seven SUV categories broken down by size and separated into luxury and non-luxury branches.

To be eligible, vehicles must be new or significantly updated with a base price less than $80,000.
