Audi Q5 Is Fastest Selling Vehicle in America Right Now

The fastest selling vehicle in America right now is not the Toyota Camry or the Ford F-150. It is the Audi Q5. According to a new report by CarEdge, the Audi SUV is flying off of dealership lots at an astounding rate.

CarEdge collects data from dealership sales reports and inventory turnover rates to determine which vehicles are selling the fastest. The vehicles are ranked based on their Market Day Supply (MDS). The MDS indicates how many days it would take for dealers to sell all of the vehicles in inventory based on the vehicle’s daily selling rate. It is important to clarify that this is not a list of the vehicles that are sold the most, but instead sold the fastest.

The Data

The Audi Q5 topped the list with a MDS of 21. Meaning that it would take 21 days for dealers to sell every new Q5 currently in inventory. In second place is the Lexus ES Hybrid with a MDS of 22. On the other end of the spectrum is the Volkswagen ID.4 with a MDS of 471.

In the last 45 days, 1,198 Audi Q5 models have been sold. The average transaction price was $59,913. Of the top ten fastest selling vehicles, the Audi Q5 is the third most expensive. Dealers currently have just 546 new Q5s nationwide. That makes it the scarcest model among the top ten fastest-selling vehicles.

What is not clear based on the CarEdge data is which Audi Q5 models are being sold so quickly. As you probably know, Audi redesigned the Q5 for 2025. However, the new third-generation Q5 is being sold next to the outgoing second-generation Q5. There is no question that dealers are anxious to get rid of the second-generation Q5 models still in inventory. However, the nearly $60K average transaction price seems to indicate that dealers are not exactly giving these things away.

Within the Audi lineup, the Q5 has long been the best-selling model. With the new redesign, that appears set to continue. American car buyers have a lot of new vehicle options to choose from. The fact that the Audi Q5 is the fastest selling out of all of them says something. It will be interesting to see if that trend continues into 2026.
