Audi Club Florida Participates In Groundbreaking by Kerry Green

Members of the Audi Club Florida’s First Coast Region helped celebrate the groundbreaking for a new Audi dealership being built in Jacksonville, Florida.  This will be the second Audi dealership in the greater Jacksonville metropolitan area. The new dealership, known as Audi Jacksonville along with the original Audi location, Audi Orange Park, are part of the Hanania Automotive Group, headquartered in Jacksonville.

The groundbreaking ceremony took place on April 18th and was attended by dignitaries from Audi of America along with State, Federal and local government officials. The founder and CEO of Hanania Automotive Group, Jack Hanania, was the main speaker at the event.  Peter Hamilton, Vice President for the Southern Region of Audi of America, joined in the presentations and spoke to the group about the growth of the Audi brand as is evidenced by the new dealership Hanania is building.

This new facility is situated on six acres of useable land East of Jacksonville, midway between the Atlantic Ocean beaches and downtown Jacksonville.  The building will be 40,000 square feet with 19 service bays and a ten car showroom.  In addition the building will be LEED Certified.  This certification means the building is resource efficient and uses less water and energy while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.  Audi Jacksonville will employ 50 plus people and is scheduled to open in December of this year.  As zealots of the Audi brand, Audi Club Florida members join with many other Audi enthusiasts in looking forward to the Grand Opening Ceremonies to take place early next year.
