Hello again Audi aficionados! Thank you for clicking on another edition of Auction Watch where we’ve done the internet searching for you. We’ve checked multiple car auction sites looking for Audi models worthy of your bids. Each Thursday we post those listings calling out a car’s highlights, and include a few pictures and a link to the listing. Our goal is to help you find the Audi that you’re looking for in time for you to bid on it.
This week we don’t just have an elder statesman, we actually have three with one being very special. We have a distinguished member of Audi’s legacy, a 1984 Sport quattro. Please take some time and read about this car, it’s just that special. The other elder statesmen are a 1984 4000 S and a 1983 Ur quattro restoration project looking for a new home. There’s also have an extensively modified 1995.5 S6 Avant equipped with the legendary inline-five engine. Next and originally from Japan is a 2008 RS 6 Avant but importing from Canada to the States may be challenging due to 25-year rule. 1984 Audi Sport quattro (26,000 Miles)

Break-out your checkbooks, break open your piggy banks, and check your financial statements because if you plan to bid you’ll need extra- deep pockets. As we called it last week, a Find of the Year, it is 1 of 214 Sport quattro built to homologate the type for the legendary FIA Group B rally competition. It is also 1 of 5 purchased in 1985 by the seller’s father, Audi Club of North America (née Quattro Club USA) founder Frank Beddor Jr. After delivery to a family friend at Audi’s Ingolstadt factory, it was shipped to the States and modified by Andial Road and Racing in California to satisfy NHTSA and EPA regulations.
Trans-Am and IMSA racing campaigns, the car received mods including the installation of a Heinz Lehmann-built turbocharged 2,133cc aluminum-block inline-five, a Kluge Motorsport-built five-speed manual transaxle, and custom suspension components. A refresh in the mid-1990s included an engine overhaul performed by Lehmann as well as a repaint of the composite body panels in the original shade of Tornado Red.

2019 Audi RS 5 Sportback (12,000 Miles)

The great exterior combo of Daytona Gray pearl and a Black Optic package suits this car fine. The black interior features a Fine Nappa leather package whose seats have Crescendo Red stitching, an RS Driver Assistance package, and 3D B&O sound. Handling is aided with a Dynamic package and dynamic steering. Power comes from a twin-turbo 2.9L V6 Audi rated at 444HP/443 lb-ft and an 8-speed Tiptronic. The Carfax report is clean and there’s a Lemon Squad inspection report too.
2018 Audi S5 Cabriolet (34,000 Miles)

I once heard this Navarra Blue metallic over Magma Red color scheme referred to as Superman colors. Well, this turbocharged 3.0L V6 may be close to that thanks to a 034Motorsports Stage 1 tune and aftermarket intercooler. Other mods include tinted windows, 20” Avant Garde wheels, Brembo brake pads, EMD Auto lowering springs, and a carbon fiber flat bottom steering wheel. Under the black soft top are diamond-stitched leather seats, Carbon Atlas inlays, and B&O sound. There’s a clean Carfax and a Lemon Squad inspection report too.
2011 Audi S4 (97,000 Miles)

I’d like to see Audi bring back this Sprint Blue pearl color which looks to have a Black Optic package to go with it. The interior has black leather seats with Alcantara inserts, Audi Advanced Key, navigation, and a CD stereo. The supercharged 3.0L V6, Audi rated at 333HP/325 lb-ft, now inhales through an APR intake so those numbers may be a bit higher. A 6-speed manual completes the drivetrain. Carfax reports no accidents or damage but notes glass was repaired in August 2022.
2008 Audi RS 6 Avant (104,000 Kilometers)

No Reserve. Here’s a Japanese import to Vancouver, British Columbia. That means it’s a right-hand drive car. Listed as metallic gray, it’s equipped with a carbon fiber front splitter, black grille and badging, and has tinted rear windows. The black interior has leather seats with contrasting stitching, carbon fiber trim, and Bose surround-sound. The drivetrain is a twin-turbo 5.0L V10, factory rated at 572HP/479 lb-ft, connected to a 6-speed Tiptronic. It also has Dynamic Ride Control sport suspension. PLEASE NOTE: The vehicle is not 25 years old and doesn’t have US EPA or DOT certification stickers.
1995.5 Audi S6 Avant (195,000 Miles)

No Reserve. The .5 indicates it was built for the US market between July and December of 1995. The exterior is Emerald Pearl Effect, the interior is Ecru with leather seats, walnut trim, and an Audi/Blaupunkt Delta cassette stereo with Bose sound. You really need to read the listing for the extensive mods on the entire drivetrain that start with a rebuilt turbocharged 20-valve 2.2L AAN I5 and a 5-speed manual with South Bend Stage 3 clutch. The chassis is highly tweaked as well.
2002 Audi TT Coupe ALMS Commemorative Edition (61,000 Miles)

This is 1 of the 500 ALMS editions finished in Avus Silver pearl. That’s over a black cabin with Crimson Red leather seats, steering wheel, trim and door panels. It also has a Sony CD stereo with Bose sound and the rear storage compartment lid latches are broken. The turbocharged 1.8L I4 is Audi rated at 225HP/207 lb-ft and it spins a 6-speed manual and a Haldex drive system with new fluid, filter, and transaxle mount in preparation for the sale. Please see the listing for the engine service done in April 2024. The Carfax report is clean but there are the typical dead pixels on the center display.
2021 Audi R8 Performance Coupe (4,600 Kilometers)

In Ontario, Canada, this uprated R8 seeks a new owner. In this spec the 5.2L V10 is factory rated at 602HP/413 lb-ft, exhales through a Sport exhaust, is surrounded by carbon fiber, and pairs well with a 7-speed S tronic. That’s my favorite R8 color, Suzuka Gray metallic, with Carbon Sigma side blades and carbon fiber front splitter, mirror caps, side skirts, fixed rear wing, and rear diffuser. 3M paint protection film covers the frunk lid, fenders, and mirror caps. The black cabin has Nappa leather seats, Carbon Sigma trim, B&O sound, and an Audi MMI navigation system. The Carfax report is clean.
2008 Audi RS 4 (58,000 Miles)

This fast sedan is finished in Avus Silver pearl with a Titanium Package that adds a black grille and window trim and titanium-finished mirror caps. The black interior has a Premium package, Piano Black trim, Audi Navigation Plus, Bluetooth phone connectivity, satellite radio plus a glovebox-mounted 6-CD changer with Bose sound, and WeatherTech floor liners. The Dynamic Ride Control suspension fluid was flushed/changed in August 2018 at 55k miles. The 4.2L V8 wears a valved Milltek Sport cat-back exhaust without resonators. The Carfax report is clean but the older paint protection film is peeling on the hood and it’s usually time consuming to remove.
2011 Audi TT Roadster (26,000 Miles)

This unique color is Oolong Gray pearl which has a brownish hue to it. And it also has a few flaws shown in pictures numbered in the 30s. The black soft top look good though as do the black Nappa leather seats. Also inside are Audi Navigation Plus and Bose sound. The turbocharged 2.0L I4 is factory rated at 211HP/258 lb-ft and it connects to a 6-speed S tronic. Carfax reports no accidents or damage.
2021 Audi RS 6 Avant (38,000 Miles)

This is a well-configured long roof. Outside, the color is Audi Exclusive Daytona Gray Matte Effect with a Black Optic Package. Options include: ceramic brakes, sport exhaust, Night Vision Assistant, Executive and Driver Assistance packages. The interior has the popular Cognac Valcona leather seats with Granite Gray stitching and Carbon Twill inlays. It has had a few electrical gremlins (see pictures 90+) and the problematic alternator/starter assembly was replaced in December 2023. It has a clean Carfax.
1983 Audi quattro Project

I’m pretty sure this is the first listing we’ve had on Auction Watch for which you’ll actually need to bring a trailer. This mechanic’s special was acquired out of Minnesota by the selling dealer in 2015 as a donor car for a client build. The body was prepared for paint before the project was canceled. The 2.1L I5 with Bosch Jetronic fuel injection and K27 turbocharger, and the 5-speed manual are removed and are included in the sale along with a set of 15×7″ wheels, spare and removed parts.
2016 Audi S8 (76,000 Miles)

No Reserve. This is a relist from an auction that ended May 10th but the winning bidder failed to follow through with the purchase not due to any fault with the vehicle. It now has 3,000 more miles on its 4.0L twin-turbo V8 Audi rated at 520HP/481 lb-ft that’s mated to an 8-speed Tiptronic. The exterior is Florett Silver metallic, the interior is black with Valcona leather seats, ventilated front seats, Carbon Atlas trim, Bose sound, Audi MMI Navigation Plus, a head-up display, adaptive cruise control, and a top-view camera system. Carfax reports no accidents or damage.
2008 Audi TT Roadster 3.2 (112,000 Miles)

The drophead coupe is painted Brilliant Black with a black convertible soft top. Inside are Madras Brown Baseball Optic Nappa leather seats, Enhanced Interior and Audio packages, and a wind deflector. The 3.2L VR6 is factory rated at 250HP/236 lb-ft and spins a 6-speed manual. The Carfax report is clean, notes engine service in 2016 at 96K miles, and the seller notes dings on the body as well as chips on the nose.
2008 Audi R8 V8 Coupe (3,000 Miles)

This first year R8 bid to $82,000 on BaT in February 2023 but didn’t sell. Is it a collectable? Perhaps low mileage ones like this Phantom Black pearl with body color side blades over a black interior example are just that. The 4.2L V8 (420HP/317 lb-ft) connects to a 6-speed R tronic. The pictures are the same ones from the previous listing so it may have just been sitting around on its original tires for over a year. Carfax still reports no accidents or damage.
1984 Audi 4000 S (50,000 Miles)

This Type 85 B2 is listed as black over brown. Inside features seats are upholstered in Brazil Brown velour with striped accents, A/C, power front windows, an Autobahn Covert Dual Superheterodyne XK radar detector, and a Kenwood cassette stereo installed in the factory location linked to a trunk-mounted CD changer. The seller notes cruise control doesn’t work. The 2.2L JT I5 was rated 115HP when new and mates to a 5-speed manual with vacuum-operated center and rear differentials. The Carfax report is clean.
