Not in hibernation!

Greetings Audi Club members. This past winter, we did not hibernate. Quite the opposite, our National Board, Chapter Leaders, Audi of America and Audi Dealer Network have been busy planning for great events in 2014. The biggest event will be our 30th birthday. The 30th Audi Club National Event will take place in Austin, Texas in the Fall, and this event will coincide with FIA World Endurance Championship (Audi e-tron R18 LMP1) and Tudor Championship (Audi R8 LMS Customer Racing). ACNA Board Directors and Lone Star chapter members met this past February to begin planning for our 30th birthday party. We hope to see many of you in Texas this fall!

In addition to our National event, we have two major regional events this year. In the Eastern Region, this late Spring, we have the popular Quattro de Mayo. This annual driving event has been growing in size. It is well attended by not just the Audi drivers but also their family members. It is a leisurely driving vacation going through the most scenic roads. More detail can found in the corresponding article in this issue.
In the fall, Audi Club Golden Gate will host our Western Regional event. We will be participating in Legends of the Autobahn for the third year. Over 700 enthusiast cars (Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche) attended last year. Our members’ cars won many awards in the judged car competition. This event also coincides with the famous annual Monterey Motorsports weekend and Pebble Beach Concourse d'Elegance. Thousands of international car enthusiasts descend to Carmel, CA. Stay tuned for details about this event.

We are working with various Chapters for more additional regional events. In addition to the above major regional events, we have close to 300 local events in 30 states covering driver education, social, and charity events. Our National Board members are actively collaborating with Chapter Leaders, Audi Area General Managers, and Audi Customer Experience Managers in different regions in our joint effort to create more Audi fans. We are working together to create Audi owner communities around dealers.

Given that we are doing a lot more business development activities with various Audi entities and sponsors around the States, I would like to use this opportunity to recruit volunteers who have business development skills. We need volunteers to engage in business discussions with many Audi dealers and our existing and potential sponsors to create a win-win strategy in creating more Audi Fans.

Another skill that the Club needs help is in Social Media. If you have professional experiences in Social Media and are interested in helping our Club to be more prominent in the Social Media arena at Chapter and National levels, we will be honored to have you in our Social Media team. Please send us your contact info and whether you are interested in helping out in Business Development or Social Media activities to

With that note, I wish you a great Spring Audi time.
