Arizona Chapter February Members of the Month

Since this is the Month of Love, we decided to award a couple February’s Members of the Month!
Congratulations to Rose and Randy Nelson!
They retired to Arizona from Chicago, vowing never to see snow in person again.  Rose was a Chicago Police Officer for 21 years, often working the toughest neighborhoods in the city.  She says it was a hoot; Randy says he doesn’t remember it that way.  He spent his life in major account sales for Japanese companies such as Toshiba, Seiko, and Casio, often flying over 100,000 miles a year “back when it was fun” he says.  They have been married 17 years and say they have “more fun than any couple possibly should.”
Their Monsoon Gray 2018 A5 Sportback Prestige is their first Audi, and both report being “ecstatic” about the car, even after 18 months and 31K miles of mostly “noodling around the Phoenix” area.  The car has been lowered 2 inches using H&R Sport Springs as installed by Goodspeed Performance.
They originally shopped for a black coupe, but upon seeing the Sportback in person “fell in love with its’ timeless beauty”.  Randy also reported a tingling, but we thought we should stop asking questions at that point.
They “stumbled” across the Club while searching the Internet for “Audi stuff” and immediately joined.  Their first Drive n’ Dine was to Prescott via AZ89 in 2019 and had enough fun to become more involved.  Randy now serves as Vice President of the Club and helps with the writing, the Drive n’ Dines and the list goes on and on.
Both Rose and Randy say the best thing they like about the club is “the warmth and passion” exuded by the members.  They also have enjoyed going to multiple Arizona landmarks that they had never visited including Kartchner Caverns and Chiricuhua National Monument.  They say their favorite Arizona icon has been Big Nose Kate’s Saloon in Tombstone, a national treasure for sure.
