Audi Leads All Luxury Brands in IIHS 2025 TOP SAFETY PICK+ Awards as New Q5 and A6 e-tron Earn Top Award

The all-new Audi Q5, Q5 Sportback and A6 Sportback e-tron just earned IIHS 2025 TOP SAFETY PICK+ honors. They join the Audi A5, Q7, Q6 e-tron, and Q6 Sportback e-tron, giving Audi seven models with the IIHS 2025 TOP SAFETY PICK+ designation. No other luxury automaker offers as many.

These models met tougher 2025 IIHS standards focused on rear-passenger safety, highlighting the strong safety performance of Audi’s latest combustion and electric platforms.

For 2025, IIHS raised the bar for its TOP SAFETY PICK+ award by updating the moderate-overlap front crash test to better assess rear-seat safety. Despite the tougher criteria, the new Audi Q5, Q5 Sportback, and A6 Sportback e-tron all earned the top “good” rating, qualifying them for the highest IIHS honor.

To earn the 2025 TOP SAFETY PICK+ award, the new Audi Q5, Q5 Sportback, and A6 Sportback e-tron achieved “good” ratings in small overlap front and updated side crash tests, along with strong pedestrian crash prevention performance in both day and night conditions.

All trims of the 2025 Audi Q5, Q5 Sportback, and A6 Sportback e-tron met IIHS headlight requirements, with the A6 Sportback e-tron rated “good/acceptable” and the Q5 models rated “acceptable” after a headlight re-aiming update. Models produced after July 2025 qualified for the TOP SAFETY PICK+ award.
