Porsche Cayenne Coupe EV Turbo GT Caught Testing with Aggressive Aero

It is EV performance week at the Nürburgring. We already captured the new Audi RS 6 Avant e-tron a couple of days ago. And now Porsche is getting into the mix with what appears to be a Cayenne Coupe EV Turbo GT.

The SUV was spotted testing at the Nürburgring wearing minimal camouflage, so we got a good look at the exterior, but we still have questions. The main one being, what the heck is this thing? Porsche has yet to confirm officially but this appears to be the SUV equivalent of the insanely quick Taycan Turbo GT.

Last year the Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach package set a blistering 7:07.55 lap time around the ‘Ring. 1,019 horsepower can do things like that. The Cayenne spied in these pictures appears to follow that same mold thanks to the aggressive aero that can be seen.

The Cayenne EV has not even been launched yet, but we know it will be fast. The Cayenne Electric prototype set a record at the Shelsley Walsh hill climb back in July. It scampered up the 1,000-yard-long asphalt hill in just 31.28 seconds. That is over four seconds quicker than any other SUV has ever done it. And that was a regular Cayenne EV. What is this big wing version going to be capable of?

The current Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT makes 650 horsepower with a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine. It can reach 60 mph in about 3 seconds flat. The new Cayenne Coupe EV Turbo GT could make these numbers look pedestrian. We should find out soon enough. When a vehicle is caught wearing so little camouflage that typically indicates that its formal debut is not far behind.
