Find of the Day: Enthusiast-Owned V10-Powered 2009 Audi S8 Up for Auction
This car is so nice, we almost didn’t want to share it. However, we think everyone deserves a chance to bid on this lovely V10-powered Audi S8 that is currently offered on Cars & Bids.
A Lamborghini Gallardo-derived V10 engine in an Audi luxury sedan. Are you kidding? Nope, for a few short years from 2007 to 2010 Audi stuffed a 450 horsepower V10 under the hood of its most luxurious sedan. It was a match made in heaven. And now one of these super sedans can be yours.
2009 Audi S8
Amazing powerplant aside, the D3 generation S8 is beloved for its clean, crisp lines and understated style. The design of many large luxury sedans typically ages as well as an avocado in the sun. But this S8 is old enough to have its own driver’s license, yet it still looks modern.
This car was very well equipped when it first left Neckarsulm. The Ibis White paint and Amaretto interior is a classy combination. And this S8 is optioned with the Bang & Olufsen sound system, Technology Package, Cold Weather Package, upgraded leather and more. The original MSRP was over $115,000 which is about $175,000 in 2025 dollars. We don’t know what this car will sell for, but it won’t be anywhere near that.
There is a saying in the car trade world that you buy the seller, not the car. With that being the case, this S8 seems like a safe bet. The owner is a hardcore Audi enthusiast with several other Audi vehicles in his collection. He knows this car well, has taken good care of it and is up front with its flaws. It should give bidders confidence.
The auction listing contains several videos of the car. However, we must warn you, don’t watch the video of the cold startup unless you are fully prepared to explain to your significant other why a truck just dropped a V10 Audi sedan in front of your house. Bidding ends Monday, August 18.
