Refreshed Audi Q6 Spied with e-tron Styling Influence
Audi’s China-only Q6 SUV is set to receive a mid-cycle update that draws heavily from the all-electric Q6 e-tron’s design language. Built in partnership with SAIC at the Ningbo facility, the Q6 was originally launched in 2022 and is positioned as a full-size crossover on the MQB platform, larger than the Q7 but distinct from the electric Q6 e-tron lineup. The refreshed model adopts sleeker aesthetics, including a revised grille, slim lighting, flush door handles, and new rear-end treatment. Spy shots of the updated version undergoing testing in Germany hint at additional styling and interior upgrades.
Under the hood, the facelifted Q6 is expected to drop its VR6 in favor of Volkswagen’s latest EA888 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four engine, shared with the Teramont Pro. The newest iteration of this motor boasts 268 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, along with high-efficiency upgrades such as a VTG turbo, integrated manifolds, and improved fuel injection. A dual-clutch transmission remains standard.
While this Q6 remains exclusive to the Chinese market, its evolving design and tech-forward engineering echo Audi’s global direction, with hints of what may influence future large SUVs across the brand’s portfolio.
