First is our brand new Going Coastal event, March 28-30. We’re trying something different, in part to better engage our members outside Metro Atlanta, in part to try something different. This event is a collaboration with our friends from Audi Club Florida. The driving will not involve any high-G hairpins or blind, off-camber, decreasing radii. Instead, we’ll be cruising through the Georgia Low Country into Florida’s First Coast. We begin by meeting up in Savannah on Friday, March 28 for Happy Hour, followed by dinner at The Pirate’s House and an evening on River Street. We’ll spend the night at the Westin in Savannah Harbor. Saturday, March 29, we begin our drive down the coast on the best local roads we can find, stopping for lunch at Skipper’s Fish Camp in Darien and ending in Atlantic Beach, Florida. Here, we’ll check into the One Ocean Hotel right on the beach, then head out on foot for happy hour and dinner in Neptune Beach. The program on Sunday, March 30 begins with brunch a little further down the beach and concludes with a relaxed drive back up the coast on A1A, after which we’re going to head home.
Following the format we introduced last fall at Tapoco Lodge, you can attend as many or as few of the components of this trip as you desire (or have time for). Join up at any point along the program. We simply ask that you carefully observe the scheduled departure times for each Stage that you’ve signed up for. The Stages are all detailed on the registration form. Each participant will cover their own expenses, and the $30 nominal registration fee is the same for everyone.
