Eminem, LL Cool J, and LL’s Audi in “Murdergram”

When last we saw LL Cool J’s Audi 5000, it was freshly restored and on display at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Now, it’s popped up, along with Eminem, in the video of LL’s most recent single “Murdergram”.

The car was one of the first big purchases for LL, something he later celebrated on the cover of his 1987 album BAD (Bigger And Deffer). That album went platinum and would later be named one of the top 100 greatest rap albums of all time.

In the lexicon of the C3 Audi 5000 (type 44), LL’s wasn’t the most extreme Audi had to offer. That didn’t matter though. For its time, it was a tech-laden contemporary luxury car with futuristic aerodynamics. A year earlier, Ferris Bueller’s dad drove a very similar red 5000 in John Hughes’ own pop culture icon movie.
