Find of the Day: 36K-Mile B5 S4 on Bring a Trailer
The B5 S4 holds a special place in a lot of enthusiasts’ hearts. Yes, the 2.7-liter biturbo “2.7T” isn’t known for reliability or low cost of maintenance, but it was a monster of an engine. Fitting it into the B5 chassis, a much-needed product at the time and much-loved ever since, created one of the most desirable Audi models in the modern era.

That they were easy to tune, with plenty of affordable power at a time when chip tuning was just coming to the fore and the cars were all fresh and new, the B5 reached legend status and placed the Audi brand back on the performance map after years of mainly boring and slow normally-aspirated models. Even still, the call of upgraded power meant a lot of these cars were modified within an inch of their lives, miles up, driven hard and put away wet. So, when a relatively stock example pops up in a great spec, it tends to command a premium. That it might also be practically new with say… 36K on the odometer wouldn’t hurt either.

That’s where we find this black on black B5 S4 sedan with manual transmission over on Bring a Trailer. Other than some rock chips on the front and an aftermarket exhaust, this S4 appears to be probably the closest thing you’ll find to going back in time to 2000 when it rolled out of the Audi dealer’s showroom.
Check it out on Bring a Trailer via the link below, but hurry. We caught this one late in process, meaning the auction ends later today. If you hadn’t seen it already, you’ve got just hours to decide how committed you are to snagging it.
