April was a busy month for Florida fans of the Audi brand, with the official launch of the A3 and the Audi Technical Center Tour. Coming in June are "Drop the Flag" events for the start of the 24 Hours of le Mans on June 14 - look for details in the coming weeks for where this will take place. This has been a great event over the past couple years.

If you live in the Tampa Bay area, consider joining us at Mr. Dunderbak's for lunch on May 17 (see "Gulf Coast Region" below for details).

If you're interested in getting together with fellow members we'd like to hear from you, especially if you live in South or Southwest Florida. If you're interested in sharing information about an event or becoming a regional contact for the club, contact walter@audiclubfl.org.

Cheers,
Walter Moore

News from the New York Auto Show - A3 TDI Sportback coming to the US after all!

A surprise at the New York Auto Show was the announcement that Audi is bringing the A3 TDI Sportback back to the US market. Audi of America said that this was in direct response to current TDI owners. In our market the A3 TDI will continue to be front-wheel drive and automatic only.

2015 Model Year Information:

Quattroworld shares with us the changes for the 2015 model year. Most changes are minor, other than the arrival of the new A3, the end of the outgoing TT and TTS. The S3 and A3 Sportback models will arrive later in the year.

"All new for 2015, the A3 launches as a Sedan in 1.8 TFSI (FWD) and 2.0 TFSI (quattro) configurations. Later in the year the S3 Sedan, Sportback TDI, Sportback e-tron and Cabrio will join the lineup. We’ve highlighted the noticeable changes from 2014 across the line up below with most of them being minimal with several options being renamed and consoldiated. The Q7 is the standout gaining 5 new option packages. The S6 and S7 gain standard LED Headlights and Head up display. While, 2015 also brings the retirement of the MK2 TT as we are expecting the MK3 to arrive early next year."

Final Words..

Welcome to our new ACNA members. Our membership numbers continue to grow; we are now well over 270 members, which means additional critical mass in different regions of the state and hopefully more events and greater participation. Those of you who are new to the ACNA will receive an onboarding note from David Loppert. If you have any questions feel free to drop a line to David. If you have not had a chance yet check out both the ACNA website, and the Audi Club of Florida website. There is a great deal of good information plus some excellent photos of member’s cars.
